“Those who look outside dream. Those who look inside, awake”
Carl Jung
When we share our feelings and thoughts with anyone other than that person, we have created a triangle. Sometimes, we share in this way to avoid hurt feelings or due to the perceived threat of rejection. This communication pattern creates a barrier to clear, explicit and congruent communication. This often creates MORE conflict and can lead to a loss of a relationship(s) rather than a strengthening of intimacy and bonding. Speaking directly to another allows authentic communication, accountability and clear boundaries. It also gives the receiver an opportunity to validate, respond and clarify their thoughts and feelings.
“Look deep into nature and you will understand everything.”
Albert Einstien
